Tompa and At The Gates was a huge inspiration to us. Countless times, we went to see them live and when we didn’t see Tompa on stage he could always be found in the pit moshing with the rest of us. He was always supporting whoever was on stage. Tompa’s dna is in so many bands music. A legacy that will never go away. ![]()

In November 1997, after a long wait, Candlelight Records released our debut album, *Shadowsoul’s Garden*. Just months later, we returned to the studio to record *Hail Down Deep*. This time, we were prepared. Producer Christian Silver (now our drummer) pushed us relentlessly to improve, driving us to aim for a near-perfect album.![]()

*Hail Down Deep* was recorded, mixed, and mastered in March 1998, set for release that year. However, as we joined other bands—Andreas with Sundown, Manne with Cemetary and later Beseech, Henric with Lothlorien, and Tommy with Eternal Lies—the album was shelved.![]()

Years later, reunited as Fatal Embrace, we considered releasing *Hail Down Deep* but chose instead to write and record *Manifestum Infernalis*. Still, *Hail Down Deep* remained a favorite, and we’re thrilled to finally release it. To honor our current lineup, Henric Serholt, the album’s original lyricist, re-recorded the vocals. We also added some new guitar layers, with Christian Silver handling the mix and mastering in 2024.![]()
